Just another way to move units.

iPhone 3gsApple's populariPhone 3GS is available at Walmart for $97-- the lowest price we've seen on a new iPhone and possibly the worst price for an iPhone 3GS.

Sure, $97 sounds like a great deal for an iPhone 3GS, which will soon be able to run the iPhone 4.0 software that enables multitasking and many other new features, but the newest iPhone is all but assured for a mid-June launch.
At this point in the game, especially since you will be locked into a 2-year contract with ahigher $325 early termination fee, you're better off saving up for the newest iPhone, which will have a faster processor, better battery life and a front facing camera for video chatting. There's actually a lot to like about thenew iPhone, which our sister site Engadget details.

If you need more proof that this isn't a good deal, don't just take our word for it. TheMacRumors Buyers Guidetracks the best time to buy any Apple product based on news, rumors, time since last refresh and more. The guide rates the iPhone as, "Don't Buy - Updates soon" and lists the days since the last iPhone upgrade as almost double the average length of time.

Reportedly the stock of the iPhone 3GS is running low, but it is still very likely that $99 will soon be the standard price of an iPhone 3GS. With most gadgets, last year's model will suffice, but when you are going to b locked into a cell phone for 2 years, you are better off buying the new model. In this case the new iPhone, which will reportedly cost $199, is a much better deal.

I call bullshit!

AT&T to raise fees for iPhone contract breakers

Posted on May 21, 2010 at 12:00 PM
NEW YORK (AP) — AT&T is raising the fee it charges buyers of the iPhone and other smart phones if they break their two-year contracts.
Starting June 1, those buyers will have to pay $325 for breaking their contract, up from $175 currently. For buyers of regular phones, the fee is being decreased by $25 to $150.
The early termination fee goes down for every month customers stay in their contract — by $10 for smart phones and $4 for regular phones. So if a smart phone contract is broken after two months, the termination fee is reduced by $20 to $305.
The changes only apply to new contracts.
Verizon Wireless raised its smart phone termination fees in November. Federal regulators have been looking into the practice of charging higher fees for smart phones.

Join Team Up for Nonprofits in our first event

Congratulations to our Founder and President Ryan Hodgson in landing the amazing talent to make this event come to fruition.

For this event we have decided to support Seattle Against Slavery,  a grassroots coalition working to make a slave-free world one city at a time. Uniting community-based abolition activists, local and national non-government organizations, government agencies, and other coalitions, SAS seeks to raise human trafficking awareness and mobilize the public to better advocate for victims, enhance survivor care, promote legislation to combat human trafficking, and help service providers build capacity.

Please come out and join us in supporting a cause that needs a lot more attention. If you can't make it, at least make a contribution to the cause.

A very special thank you to the artists that have agreed to play the event: Victor Shade, Project Lionheart, SOL, and soul singer Dice and our Special Guest Host Tilson from The Saturday Knights.

And yes that is the Mayor of Boston... Kinda embarrassing huh?

First, state attorney general Martha Coakley and Sen. Scott Brown, now Mayor Thomas M. Menino?
During the unveiling of a new statue depicting Boston Bruins legend Bobby Orr’s “The Goal” on Causeway Street in front of the TD Garden, Menino managed to steal some of the buzz from Orr by first jumbling his words, then mixing in the wrong name for one of Boston’s greatest sports moments.
Menino was talking about great athletic feats in Boston history, and called them “ionic” moments (see the :35 second mark). He hailed Orr’s goal, Doug Flutie’s Hail Mary, John Havlicek’s steal and lastly, Jason Varitek splitting the uprights (see the :44 second mark).
Wait, that last one’s not right.
“In Boston, we have an amazing set of remarkable athletes whose actions have become ionic (sic) in sports,” Menino said. “Havlicek stole the ball, Fisk waiving the ball fair, Flutie launching the Hail Mary pass, Varitek splitting the uprights.”
What Mayor Menino meant to say was kicker Adam Vinatieri’s name. Vinatieri booted the game-winning 48-yard field goal in 2002 to help the New England Patriots beat the St. Louis Rams in the Super Bowl, 20-17, as time expired.
The estimated crowd of 500 people and assembled spectators grumbled after hearing Varitek’s name.
The gaffe is reminiscent of when Martha Coakley, then campaigning for senator, said Curt Schilling was a New York Yankees fan, and last month when Sen. Brown, when asked about the Bruins and Sabres playoff series in the first round of the NHL playoffs, asked reporters if the Sabres were a Washington team.
The Sabres hail from Buffalo and Schilling helped the Red Sox to World Series titles in 2004 and 2007.
We're awaiting a call back from the mayor's office with his response, if any, to the gaffe.

Even bad things happen to good people...

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Country music singerKennyChesneyis one of thousands in Nashville sifting through waterlogged memories after floodwaters consumed his home this week.

His publicist, Holly Gleason, says it's likely his house will be condemned after water rose past the first floor.
Chesney's gym is ruined. He also lost all of his sports memorabilia, including items from when he was in high school as well as professional sports items and pictures with friends who are athletes.

Chesney was in another state working on a project when the flooding happened over the weekend. Cleanup is under way and people are working to assess the damage.

This has got to be the stupidest invention ever!

If you are so damn lazy that you can not bear to shoulder the responsibilities of pet ownership then maybe you need to rethink your commitment to having a pet. Just proof that there really should be a test before just anyone can be allowed to own a dog.

Care for little bling?

Police in Mexico's Jalisco state got quite a surprise when they raided a hideout that they believe belongs to Valencia drug cartel boss Oscar Nava Valencia, they found 31 diamond-studded handguns. The gold and silver plated handguns were studded with diamonds and ornately engraved. Some bore the word lobo (Spanish for wolf) and others are decorated with wolf pictures. One gun bears a Ferrari logo. The federal authorities found a total of 38 guns, 75 magazines, several hundred cartridges, Rolex and Cartier watches, a Cadillac pickup truck, marijuana and some cash. Valencia (sometimes called "El Lobo") is the presumed operating chief of the Milenio Cartel. He is currently being held at the Altiplano prison, Mexico's highest security federal penitentiary.
